Age is Only a Number...

Evening everyone.  Here we are Sunday evening.  Getting ready to start another busy week.  Exciting news from today.  Every year the Legion has a contest at Remembrance Day, (colored poster, black & white poster, poem, story). Just after Christmas Samantha was awarded a certificate at school for winning 1st prize for her poem.  It then went onto Zone for judging, which she placed 1st.  It then went onto District were she placed 2nd.  Very proud of her.  She's already set a goal to do better next year and get to Provincial.

Here is a birthday card to share with you.  Love the little bit of embossing, it looks like lizard skin. This cute sentiment came with the lizard stamp.  'Age is only a number...' and on the inside 'mine in UNLISTED'.

monochromatic

Happy Sunday everyone.  It's been a relaxing day. Blogging, cardmaking, watching TV with the kids.  And tomorrow, Family Day.  A payed holiday to stay home with the family.  Sam told her dad that he had to spend the day with us and not playing his game all day.  We are taking the kids to see the Journey.

I had to try out my new stamp.  Love everything in it.  The script, flowers and butterflies.  I stamped it a second time on blue cardstock with versa ink, and embossed with white.  Then cut it out.  Mounted it over the original on the stamped image, leaving one wing unattached so it will stand up. The strips in the background were stamped with a script stamp in dark blue ink.

Get Well!!

Afternoon everyone.  I finally sat down and made a card today.  Although it is a very simple one.  I get to turn the wi-fi back on today, so I can use my tablet again.  That means I can start doing challenges again.  I save all the info on there so it's right in front of me at my work area.  Not having it handy has been awful.

I started with the stamped image.  This is one I picked up at the Garage Sale last weekend.  I colored it with regular pencil crayons.  Cut it out and stamped the sentiment.  Mounted it on foam dots to give the card some dimention.  On the card I used versa mark to stamp the feathers.  I forgot how nice and suttle the feathers make for a background.  I haven't used them for awhile.

Hope to get more done this weekend.  My dad placed an order for a few, seems he's running out of his stash.

TGIF

Good morning everyone.  It's been a quiet morning around here.  The snow is trying to fall outside.  We've been lucky this year, it's been a pretty good winter, unless your a snowmobiler.  Kids are off to school, hubby is back to work (was home sick most of the week), it's just me and the dog and blogland.

On this card the hearts were stamped with versa mark and then rubbed with pearl x.  Held in the right light it sparkles.  Because the pearl x stained the white paper around the hearts I inked it with green distress ink.  Added a few pearls and sentiment, and mounted onto a raspberry card.

Day off tomorrow and heading into the Craft Nook.  They are having a Garage Sale.  You can rent a basket, and take in your unwanted stash to sell.  Me, just going to see if there is anything that could be wanted stash for me.

Happy Hump Day

Well, here we are the middle of the week.  And I've been jonesin' for my internet.  The is the first time since Sunday I've been on.  We are having overuse issues.  After the last bell bill, once the warning came up that we were paying a premium for usage, all access to the surver stopped.  I think DH even unplugged it so the daughter wasn't sneakin into it( the overuse started when I connected her ipod touch, think she's using it more than she's saying).  Today I got him to connect the old family computer to the old provided that he has been using.  Ahhh, blogland again.  How I've missed you. Only problem, no wi-fi on this connection, so I can't use my tablet.

Day off today, and after going back to bed for a bit after getting the kids off, I relaxed at the craft table.  I did a bit of paper piecing with this stamp.  I thought these soft pastel flowers were perfect for my bug car.  The green background is from a metal spellbinders embossing sheet.  I layed it on white paper and inked with distress ink overtop.  A cute card for your little sweetie on valentines.

Enjoy the day

sweet love

Afternoon everyone.  Quick post .  I've finished two cleaning jobs today.  Cooked supper (only to get a call from hubbie that he was having company tonight and they'd take the kids out for supper). Next stop my real job.  Good thing, I have the weekend off.

I had fun with this card.  I started out to be a quick and simple card.  The background was stamped with versa mark and heat embossed with pink onto pink paper.  I colored in the hearts with a red sakura pen.  The sweet love stamp was stamped first on white and then onto pink and the centre cut out and glued to the white.   The hearts I stamped onto pink, white, and red.  And paper pieced the image.  Coloring the dots on the bow with a red sakura pen.  The whole thing was matted onto red.

PA Day Here in Muskoka

Here we are mid afternoon.  All is quiet upstairs.  The kids are home today.   Teachers have the day to themselves to write report cards.  Sam has a friend over, they are watching a movie.  After spending hours outside playing on the sand hill.  But as Sam puts it, it's not sand right now.  The joy of sliding down the hill, trudging back to the top just to do it again and again.  While the kids were playing I have managed to finish the little guys valentines.  What a chore glueing on all those faces.  It's not a wonder he stopped halfway through.

Now that my table is clear of those I can get back to my valentines.  I need to sell alot to cover the amount I spent last night at an Undercoverwear Party.  It was such a blast.

Well here's a look at the finished product.  Enough for the little guys class, as well as some extras for cupid to drop off at the Retirement Home.
